Professor Gatrad has treated all 3 of my children through the difficult stages of diagnosis for coeliac disease. My eldest child who also has has Aspergers Syndrome has found diet adjustment particularly traumatic, at a time when change was complicated for him as he was transitioning to secondary school. At all stages, Professor Gatrad has been kind, considerate and professional with both ourselves and most importantly with our children. They trust him implicitly and so do we.

My son who is 1 year old first saw Prof Gatrad as a private patient, we as parents were at our wits end and didnt know where else to turn so we decided to pay to try and get some help. Prof Gatrad was amazing, he listened, he advised and gave us a plan to work to. My son is now still seeing Prof gatrad at Walsall Manor Hospital, I totally trust what he says and I am so pleased with the way he treats both me as a parent and my son. I have to travel to see prof Gatrad but he is so worth it.

Patient: I am a 12 year old girl who has seen Dr Gatrad several times. He is very easy to talk to and is witty. He is easy to get along with and explains things really well. Parent: I am really pleased my daughter has been seeing Dr Gatrad as you couldn't ask for a better doctor. He is so attentive and caring and my daughter is totally at ease with him which is what you want in a doctor. Thankyou for being a great doctor!!

i am 15 years of age and have currently being seeing Dr.Gatrad for a number of years. i have an ongoing medical condition which started when i was born but has deteriorated as i have grown older. Every time i have seen Dr.Gatrad he has always been very honest with me and has always told me the options that are available for me. Whenever i have had any concerns or queries, Dr.Gatrad has given me answers, advise and has always put my mind at rest. i am currently seeing 4 consultants which are situated at different hospitals around the country - however before i was seeing Dr.Gatrad no progress was being made regarding the different areas of my health. Dr.Gatrad refered me to other consultants and i am undergoing tests and trying different medication, i will also be having an opperation in the near future. Dr.Gatrad is a true gentleman and i admire his genuine desire to help children like myself. I am overwhelmed with the progress that has been made regarding my health since i have been attending consultations with Dr.Gatrad, he is a remarkable gentleman and I cant thank him enough for everything he has done for both me and my family.

My 11 year old son has been under the care of Dr Gatrad for most of his childhood. At all times Dr Gatrad has been attentive, knowledgable, genuine, honest and professional. He is everything a parent needs froma consultant. I am a health professional myself and I have always felt Dr Gatrad has treated both myself and my son with respect and explained everything he plans for my child. He has referred him to other members of the multi-disciplinary teams when required and reviewed my son regulary. I would always request any of my children to be seen by this consultant and would recommend him to others. I cant thank him enough for the care his has given.
